Globally recognized and respected, the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is your key to a successful career. If you’re looking to enter the world of business or finance, the CPA professional accounting credential can open doors and enhance your prospects. Becoming a CPA is a wise decision. Canadian CPAs are well-paid professionals who are in demand around the world in all sectors. They are CEOs, board members, management consultants and more—and are critical to the success of any business or organization.
Depending on your educational background, you can take different pathways to gain or earn entry to the CPA PEP. You must have an undergraduate degree with specific subject area coverage (Accounting Focus) to be admitted to the new CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP). If you are pursuing a degree in a subject other than accounting, you can get that coverage through our CPA preparatory courses (formerly CPA PREP). CPA preparatory courses were developed nationally by the profession and are delivered part-time through distance learning or in-class sessions by the provincial (or in some cases regional) bodies.
