Meter Fires

It is possible if an electric meter is not installed correctly or installed in an unsafe socket to cause a fire. This includes hot sockets, wrong meter size, wrong meter type and not placing the stabs on the meter in the jaws correctly. It is very important that the new meter’s stabs go into between the jaws that have been tested with a socket gap indicator.
