Electrical theft I not just about someone getting free or reduced energy. Electrical theft is very dangerous. People have used many things from jumper cables, spoons, forks, knives, hammered pipe or just simple wire to “jump” their meter. Doing this can cause fires, electrical shorts, shock hazards and damage. See pictures below for examples of electrical theft. If you suspect electrical theft leave the area, call your supervisor. Do not confront the customer or alert them. If a customer stops you just tell them you don’t have the correct meter and someone will have to come back to change it out.
