Matt will not only go down as probably the most successful athlete in Pittsville history but may be one of if not the most successful athlete in the State of Wisconsin. The highlight of Matt’s career was that he was the first wrestler in the state to become a 4-time state undefeated champion. Not only was he an outstanding wrestler he holds the school record in the Pole Vault as well and participated at State Track and Field and placed twice. All-Conference, All-District, All-State, Channel 7-All Star, Captain, Etc.: He went 117-0 in 4 years. His senior year their team placed 2nd at state. He was a team MVP all 4 years and team captain twice. He won the conference 4 times and multiple awards. Matt later became an All-American wrestler for UW-Madison. Matt now works with handicapped children in the Chippewa Falls School District.
