Ashley was one of the great girl athletes in school history in Volleyball, Basketball and Track. She was the first Pittsville female athlete to compete at state in three sports, and the 2004 basketball team is the only girls program to compete at the state tournament. She was an All-Conference athlete in all three sports and recognized in basketball her senior year as a Channel 7 All-Star and Channel 9 Player of the Week. She was also one of the most successful track athletes in Pittsville history. She still holds the school records in the High Jump and Triple Jump. Ashley went on to play basketball for UW-Stevens Point where she had an outstanding 4-year career, making two NCAA tournament appearances and made it to the Sweet 16 as a senior. The team holds a school record of 14 straight wins her senior year. Later Ashley came back to Pittsville to coach Girls Basketball for a few years.
