In these lessons, students will study three topics: how wind turbines generate electricity, how to use a multimeter, and how wind turbines affect birds and bats. Students will review what they’ve learned about the components of wind turbines and take their understanding further. Students will learn how the parts interact with one another to generate electricity. Lastly, students will watch videos about how wind turbines can result in the death of birds, sometimes endangered species, and jeopardize their survival. Students will see how the tall structures and the changes in wind speed and pressure they create can be missed by birds or trap flying birds.
