Throughout this course, you have worked on projects that have helped to understand hydro power. In each section, you worked to understand a major component of your final project. Today, you will use what you have learned and create a final project, acting as a true innovator and entrepreneur.
Your challenge today is: Design and communicate a way to improve your hydro turbine. Consider some of the following innovations:
A better hydro paddle structure/ shape.
An improved structure/ shape for the motor stand to better hold the motor.
An innovative improvement of your own finding using TinkerCAD.
Make sure to take tons of pictures and videos as you test and design. Be working on the creation of a very brief presentation to share with the sharks and other campers.
After completing your challenge, you should create a brief presentation to pitch your project to our team of "sharks." Your presentation can be in any format you choose, but we suggest using one of the following:
Google Slides
Microsoft PowerPoint
Prezi
SlideBean
Your presentation should answer the following questions:
What is the product/design that you have created? *include a picture*
Who is the product/service/design going to be sold to?
How is the product/design better than the other products that are like it on the market today?
Explain how you built your project.
What would you improve about your project?
Please share your final project using the Google Form to submit your work. After review by our PicoOnline team, we will assess your project and provide you with a certificate for completing this course!
Throughout this course, you have worked on projects that have helped to understand Horizontal SkyZ wind turbines. In each section, you worked to understand a major component of your final project. Today, you will use what you have learned and create a final project, acting as a true innovator and entrepreneur.
Your challenge today is: Use your SkyZ turbine kit and design and build wind turbine blades to harness as much energy from the wind as possible. You should consider the following:
The material your wind turbine blade should be made out of
The shape of your wind turbine blade
The tilt of each blade
Make sure that you take pictures and video as you test your turbine. You should create a very brief presentation that includes pictures and/or video if possible to share with the other campers!

Throughout this course, you have worked on projects that have helped to understand Savonius Vertical Wind Turbines. In each section, you worked to understand a major component of your final project. Today, you will use what you have learned and create a final project, acting as a true innovator and entrepreneur.
Your challenge today is: Use what you have learned from your Savonius wind turbine kit and either:
Use TinkerCAD Circuits to create a circuit design that shows how a savonius turbine might power appliances in your home.
Use TinkerCAD to REDESIGN the savonius turbine to harness even more energy.
Modify the savonius turbine to create a brand new turbine design using what you have learned about harnessing the wind.
Make sure that you take pictures and video as you test your turbine. You should create a very brief presentation that includes pictures and/or video if possible to share with the other campers!
