Watch the video before getting started.
Hydro power primarily comes from dams built on rivers or streams with a big drop in height so gravity can help. But there are more factors than what the video shows that come into play when deciding the type of water wheel to choose.
As we learned in the video most were build before the 1960s. There have not been many hydro plants built in the United States in a few decades.
For today's case study you will investigate and conclude based on the following: where would you place the next hydro plant based on what you now know about the water cycle? And what type of waterwheel would you choose- undershot, overshot, or breast shot wheel?
