INTRODUCTION TO MACHINING AND MANUFACTURING
Course Description:
In this course, students will explore the machining side of manufacturing by learning to read blueprints accurately and machine stock to precise specifications. They will gain hands-on experience operating a manual 3-axis mill and a manual lathe, focusing on machining non-ferrous metals. Additionally, students will apply welding techniques to assist in assembling their projects, integrating multiple metalworking skills. This course builds both technical knowledge and practical abilities essential for metal fabrication and manufacturing. A few of the projects for this class may include an entrapped cube, a screwdriver, and a furniture dolly.
