Course Description:
In this course, students will revisit information regarding the basics of metallurgy and the basic physical, chemical, and mechanical properties of metal. Welding will be the main emphasis in this course, where students will learn through theory and practice the following weld joints on SMAW and GTAW welders: flat weld, lap weld, butt weld, tee weld, cylindrical to flat surface weld, and cylindrical (pipe) weld. Students must participate in both online materials and welding in the shop to successfully complete the course.

Grades: 9-12
Dual Credit Opportunity: Open to all high school students.
