Film Studies can be studied as a one-year course or a two-year course and is open to students in Years 9 and 10.
Film Studies is a unique course that introduces students to the cinematic arts and the medium of film. Students will explore the theoretical, historical and critical approaches to cinema and film.
This elective will require students to explore the foundations of film and cinema theory, engage in close study of a film, and consider how film represents aspects of culture and society.
As part of their study, students will also engage in developing technical skills in filmmaking whilst engaging in elements of drama such as scripting, storyboarding, filming, and editing.
The course is designed for students who are interested in developing an appreciation of film and cinema, drama, and filmmaking.
