Commerce can be studied as a one-year course or a two-year course and is open to students in Years 9 and 10. Please see the flowchart below for the different pathways available if you are interested in studying Commerce.
Through studying Commerce, you will gain the knowledge, understanding, skills, and values that will equip you to make sound decisions as a young person in society. You'll learn about consumer, financial, economic, business, legal, political, and employment issues. This learning will assist you in navigating the 'real world' and participating as individuals and as part of the wider community.
You will develop a foundational understanding of commercial and legal processes, personal consumer and financial management, and consumer and financial literacy. In doing so, you will also develop an understanding of the relationships between consumers, businesses and governments in the overall economy.
In addition to this content, you will also further develop your skills of critical thinking, reflection, research, and collaborative decision-making.
