Students who arrive late for class or arrive unprepared for class may be required to complete an prepared for class plan. This plan is to be completed in the student's own time and a copy to be provided to their teacher either in person or via email.
Disengaged - onsite
When a student is disengaged at school and not participating in a class the classroom teacher will off the student a wiggle break or chill out; if the the student continues to be disengaged the teacher will contact the RTC for support.
Options for students who are disengaged include allowing them to sit quietly and listen to the lesson (they may be taking in more information than you realise), a wellbeing session, a meeting with a year level coordinator or a head of school discussion.
Disengaged - offsite
When students are working from home parents and teachers are encouraged to first offer a short chill out and then if the student continues to not engage in the online classroom, with their online learning materials, or if they are not attending online classrooms or handing in completed work then the teacher or the parent can contact the RTC for further support.
Options for students who are disengaged whilst working from home include a wellbeing session using Hangouts, a meeting with a year level coordinator or a head of school discussion. Furthermore, if necessary we will phone home and speak with student's directly or offer parent support/advice.
