According to Vanderbilt University, Service Learning is defined as: "A form of experiential education where learning occurs through a cycle of action and reflection as students seek to achieve real objectives for the community and deeper understanding and skills for themselves."
The Service Learning Programme at Panyaden’s Secondary School proudly extends inquiry, actions, and reflections in the classroom. Service learning is an integral part of Panyaden’s education and provides authentic experiences that help our students grow into adaptable, socially responsible global citizens. Projects at Panyaden support both the local community and people around the globe
We believe that everyone has a responsibility to contribute positively to society and the environment, and our students take great pride in their service work – learning along the way that they can have a positive impact on our world.
Panyaden also supports new student initiatives each year that may respond to a current crisis or support student passions to make a difference in the local community or the world. Student groups are supervised by faculty advisors.
The Service Learning Programme (including Pre-CAS and CAS) is aligned with the Panyaden Profile.
Creativity aligns with emotional development (Citta-Bhavana)
Activity aligns with physical development (Kaya-Bhavana)
