Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC)

Field Trips: To support the learning happening within the classroom, about twice a term, students will go on outings to places around Chiang Mai. These trips are designed to help students to make real-world connections to their classroom learning.

Service Learning Trips: In support of building the Panyaden Profile and getting our students to be service-minded, students within the Secondary School will experience developmentally appropriate outdoor education trips. There is a week set aside in November called the “Week Without Walls”. Student agency will play a big part in how these trips are tailored. Students, over a period of time, will build connections with an identified community and will also be able to make a difference to the community and possibly the world.

Safety Measures: For all trips, the school carries out a very thorough risk assessment protocol that enables us to provide enriching and safe learning experiences for our children. Families will be informed in advance of all EOTC events. By signing the school’s terms and conditions for each trip, parents give their consent for the school to take their children on each outing. If they wish to opt-out, parents must inform organising teachers at least a few days in advance and make alternative arrangements for the care of their child. The cost of field trips is included in the term fee. Because transportation and other field trip logistics have to be planned and paid in advance, the school is unable to refund fees.
