Panyaden International School offers a wide range of co-curricular activities for our students. Students are encouraged to engage in a variety of activities that address creative, service, athletic and academic pursuits. Starting in Year 2, students have the opportunity to participate in the Chiang Mai Athletic Conference (CMAC).
All of these are important opportunities that are part of the holistic education offered here at Panyaden International School.
These can range from the World Scholar’s Cup, Model United Nations (MUN), cooking class, theatre, music, arts, chess, maths club and a wide variety of sports. What is offered is determined by student interest and teacher, parent, or external provider talents.
Activities and Athletics run on a seasonal basis, and all students are given the opportunity to sign up at the beginning of each season. The school year is split into three fairly equally distributed seasons consisting of approximately 10 weeks each.
Panyeden uses the internet-based system SchoolsBuddy.com to independently assign students to clubs based on the family’s preference selection online. Each family will be asked to activate a SchoolsBuddy (free of charge) account online through which they can indicate which clubs, and sports, they would like each of their children to participate in.
FOR NEW FAMILIES: You will receive an email with an activation link from SchoolsBuddy to create an account at the start of the season after registration. If you do not see this email in your INBOX, please make sure to check the SPAM or JUNK folder in your email.
Here are instructions you can follow to create your SchoolsBuddy account.
FOR RETURNING FAMILIES: You should be able to login to SchoolBuddy using the email that you receive school information on. Should you have forgotten your password please click the link on the login page and follow those instructions to reset your password.
It is advised that you login to your SchoolBuddy account beforehand to confirm that you have access to the system. Should you have any questions, please reach out to the Athletics and Activities Department (AAD) at athletics-activities@panyaden.ac.th
PLEASE NOTE:
Timings: Activities begin at 16:00 Monday through Thursday and end at 17:00. However, CMAC sports may end at a later time dependent on the sport and where the training takes place. To align with the regional athletics group, activities run on a seasonal basis. Dates for sign-ups are provided in advance.
Club Fees: Clubs typically have a fee of 2,000 baht for the season. Club fees may vary slightly depending on operating costs. Fees cover club-related expenses, including compensating the club providers for their expertise and valuable time.
CMAC Sport Fees: CMAC Sports do not have a fee associated with student participation. Participation in these teams will be determined by trials, where students’ skills, effort, attitude, and leadership will be assessed.
Club Placement: Each club has limited space; we utilise a third-party platform, SchoolsBuddy which randomly allocates students into Clubs based on their preferences, giving each child an equal opportunity to be placed into their preferred Club(s). Further elaboration on the club assignment procedure is provided during the sign-up process.
Leaving or Changing Activities: Learning to follow through on commitments is an important life skill. In order to encourage commitment to activities, students cannot switch from one to another after the first week.
Fee Refunds: Refunds are not available for parents who wish to withdraw their child from an activity but if unforeseen circumstances mean activity sessions are cancelled, a make-up session will be organised. If a session cannot be made up, refunds or credit will be organised by the accounting team.
Offering an Activity: Any parent or outside specialist wishing to offer a co-curricular activity will be given the opportunity to do so before students sign up. Depending on the circumstances of the prospective leader, there may be subsidiary information which they will need to provide to the HR department.
