Which lock should I put on the front door?

Access is critical. While our platform is lock agnostic, most Hosts install a smart lock on the exterior access door. We highly encourage you to connect your smart lock to RemoteLock, which can integrate with PadSplit to automatically change lock codes when members move in and out. Schlage and Kwikset are some of the brands that are compatible with remotelock.com, a system that is integrated on the PadSplit platform. Remotelock.com offers a discount to PadSplit Hosts (email support@padsplit.com to access the discount). Which lock should I put on the bedroom doors?

For bedrooms, we have seen the most success with Punch locks. Punch locks allow Members to lock their bedrooms when they leave the house, a feature that Members care greatly about. Smart door locks for a bedroom are also successful. 

No matter what types of locks are used, keeping detailed access instructions and up to date codes in the system is paramount.
