Aviation Psychology
A pilot's mental state and attitude can be just as dangerous during flight. Pilots must be prepared and continue to remain vigilant in maintaining their mental state.
Hazardous Attitudes: such as Anti-authority, impulsivity, invulnerability, being ‘macho’, resignation, contribute to aviation accidents.
Stress: reduces skills as a pilot (poor decision makings, poor reactions to issues, increased chance of errors). Caused by many physical and psychological changes/states.
Time Fatigue: occurs after 14 hours
Sleep: RPAS operators need 8 hours of this to function properly during a flight
Prioritizing: skill needed due to the amount of information being given to the pilot during flights
