Pilot Logs
For basic and advanced operations, Transport Canada requires licensed drone pilots and their organzation to keep records about their drones and flights that the drones are used in.
Pilot and Maintenance Logs: Section 901.48 of Canadian Aviation Regulations
Must keep a record of any flight operation for 12 months after the day of their creation, which contains the following:
Names of pilots and other crew members involved in the flight
The time of each flight or multiple flights in same operation
Must keep a record of any mandatory action, maintenance, modification, or repair made on the drone for 24 months after the day of their creation, which contains the following:
Name of persons who performed actions
Date of performed action
If modified, must note model and description of item installed
Any instructions used to perform the work
Any logs must be transferred to new owner if the drone is transferred to someone else
