Figured Bass Symbols: Where do the different figured bass symbols come from for each 7th chord inversion (e.g. 7, 6/5, 4/3, 4/2). Can you think of any strategies for remembering theses? A few examples:
If you think of the inversions in order, the numbers descend: 7, 6-5, 4-3, (4)-2 .

7th Chord Speed Challenge: Race against your classmates to see who can get the highest score in each level before the timer runs up. Record the highest running scores on the board. Scores only count if you have 100% correct, so accuracy matters. If you miss a chord, restart from the top! Work until your instructor yells "stop!".

Reading Chord Notation: For each of the song excerpts in the 7th Chord Spelling (Inversions) section of your anthology, spell the chords indicated by the lead sheet notation. Spell the chords out on staff paper or write out their letter names, as indicated by your instructor.
Identifying 7th Chords: For each of the song excerpts in the 7th Chord ID (Inversion) section of your anthology, identify each chord using either lead sheet or figured bass notation, as suggested by your instructor. Ignore any notes in parentheses.
