Unit Objectives

By the end of this unit, students will be able to: 

• Notate and name pitches in treble, bass, and C clefs and identify octave notation.

• Identify notes on a piano keyboard.

• Understand the difference between pitches, octaves, and pitch classes. 

• Identify and construct whole steps, half steps, and enharmonically equivalent pitches. 

• Match pitches and aurally identify whole steps, half steps, and pitch contour.
