By the end of this unit, students will be able to:
Spell and ID major, minor, augmented, and diminished triads in root-position and inversion using lead sheet and figured bass notation.
Define the terms: root, third, fifth, and bass as they relate to chords.
Identify triads in open spacing on multiples staves in examples from the literature using lead sheet and figured bass notation.
Aurally identify and sing major, minor, and diminished triads when played as a block or arpeggiated.
Transcribe and perform melodies and rhythms that incorporate dotted quarter and 8th note values and skips between Do, Mi/Me, and Sol.
