Unit Objectives

By the end of this unit, students will be able to: 

• Write and sing a melodic and natural minor scale beginning on any given note. 

• Write and ID the key signature for any given minor key. 

• Identify the major or minor key of a melodic excerpt. 

• Identify minor scale steps using scale degree names or solfege. 

• Transcribe or sing a short melody in a minor key, using only stepwise movement. 

• Transpose a melody in a minor key to another key.
