Ben Ford is the Chair of the Anthropology Department at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). He specializes in maritime and historical archaeology.
Before coming to IUP he was a cultural resource management consultant (professional archaeologist) and lived all over the US. His current work focuses on 18th-centruy connections across the Mid-Atlantic region and includes work at Historic Hanna’s Town, a Revolutionary War era town in Pennsylvania, and Fort Necessity National Battlefield, as well as underwater archaeology work in Lake Erie and Lake Ontario.
Ben will speak about careers in Anthropology. There are few jobs that have “Anthropology” in their title, but Anthropologists and Archaeologists are employed in a wide range of jobs, including public health, museums, international affairs, federal and state agencies, advocacy, and technology.
