Lynne Williams, MD PhD, is an Internal Medicine-Pediatrics physician and the Executive Director of the Southwest PA Area Health Education Center (AHEC). She works to improve primary care in medically underserved areas through networking, education and training programs.
Dr. Williams also practices weekly at a Federally Qualified Healthcare Center (FQHC), seeing patients in an underserved area of Pittsburgh. In addition, she holds a PhD in Developmental Psychology and an undergraduate degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education.
As part of a strong desire to protect vulnerable children and promote the health and development of all children, she is a co-founder of Jeremiah’s Place, the first crisis nursery in the Pittsburgh area. Dr. Williams is the recipient of the PA American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) 2024 DEI Champion Award for her work with students and families in the community at large.
