Greetings families!
We have many celebrations over the last week to highlight. Last week, there were 5 campus Principals, district directors and coaches that came to Beck to learn together. We walked through all of our Kinder, 1st and 2nd grade classrooms and every single one of the folks were blown away. Let me unpack what they shared:
#1- Our students were exceptionally respectful.
#2- Our students writing skills were well above grade-level standards in each grade, emphasizing writing punctuation and overall handwriting skills.
#3- Our students ability to speak about their learning went beyond surface level. Students were answering questions thoughtfully, elaborating on connections of interest, reflecting on why it was important for them to be able to learn about the Science concepts observed and how it was going to help them to be able to write their thinking and research down.
#4- Students were personable in the hallways and classrooms, welcoming our guests to the building.
These are just a few exceptional highlights that I want to share in light of Teacher Appreciation Week because none of what is listed above happens on accident. There is so much intention, planning, and follow through that goes in to these great achievements. I am so proud of our teachers at Beck. Your children are loved and challenged every day to continue to grow, meeting and exceeding expectations regularly. This is all thanks to your child's teachers. Please take a moment this week to send a note or an email of appreciation for all your child's teacher/s do for them.
On another high note, our first Annual Amazing Shake happened on Friday and it was AMAZING!!!! We were so blessed to have so many volunteers come up and support this experience. Our students shared with us that they loved the challenges and couldn't wait for next year! We hope to continue to instill these important skills in our students, allowing us to make deeper connections and build awareness of the great impact our actions have on others.
Enjoy a great week!
Always True Blue,
Amanda Bunch

Career Day is an exciting day for our students. We will have 4 opportunities for families to sign up to discuss your career with your student’s class. The most important part of this day is for students to understand some of the career opportunities that are available. All careers welcome! Our students are fascinated in your careers because YOU are doing them.
A sign up is coming out the next Bulletin. If you have a career you would like to share with your student’s class, be thinking about pictures you would share, things you could bring to share, and overall the journey you have taken in order to step in to your career as it is an inspiring time for students to see what dedicated efforts you made to get to where you are!
Friday May 20th 8am-2:30pm
One of our student’s favorite days of the school year! We will need 24 volunteers for each Field Day grade-cluster to help us run rotations for our Field Day. We will assign 2 volunteers to each rotation and you will run that field game the 2 hours you are here with us. Your help is greatly appreciated.
