Greetings families!

We are feeling the holiday buzz across campus! Students have been eager to share about the fun traditions you all are celebrating at home and we are enjoying the spirit of this time of year. A big thank you to our volunteers that have decorated all classroom doors and made some truly magical entry ways for our students. This is just one more element that stands Beck apart, our families willingness to partner with us to help build that special ambience.

We had 50 nominations for Beck's 21-22 Exemplar Educator! Thank you to all that shared an experience with a teacher that has been exemplary and worthy of your esteemed nomination. It is an honor for any teacher to be nominated for this distinction, it is a recognition that carries great weight in our profession and I thank you for lifting up these exemplary educators.

There are several dates coming up in January to take note of, please put them on your calendars. If you are willing to help make this time of year special for our teachers, please review the PTA newsletter below which includes links to signup for items and/or volunteer opportunities that would support our teachers.

A note from our Art Teacher

Hello Parents!

I hope you are all doing well. As the holidays get closer, I wanted to let you know about a program we use in art class called Artsonia.

Artsonia is an app that allows our students to keep a digital portfolio of their artwork! It also allows you to access and view their artwork online. We have done some awesome projects this year and I am so excited to share them with you! Another great thing about this app is that you can purchase your own child's artwork printed on a mug/blanket/canvas/ornament/etc. and give them as gifts!

I think there is a holiday sale going on as well, PLUS Beck gets 20% of the proceeds directly back into our art program, which is awesome!!! If you are having trouble accessing your students artsonia account, please feel free to reach out to me and I am more than happy to help.

December 2021 PTA Newsletter

Happy Holidays! I can't believe we are halfway through this school year! I wanted to take a moment and give thanks. I’m thankful for my family, for my friends and PTA, as well as for the students and staff for making this school year so great. The PTA can’t function without volunteers and people coming together in our community; our Beck community SHOWS UP and SHOWS OUT! We have some wonderful things planned in the coming months, please see below!

2021-2022 PTA & School Events - Printable

We only have a couple weeks left before Christmas break and there’s many opportunities to help our students, staff and teachers! I wanted to list it here, so it's a “one stop shop” to be able to access and select. Here’s the quick list of opportunities for you to get involved before the break.

December Volunteering (aka we need your help!):

12 days of Christmas! - PTA is partnering with the school to provide 12 Days of Christmas goodies and treats for the teachers!! Please consider Signing Up to donate goodies/supplies.

Lost and Found Sorting - Dec. 6th, 7th - Come help sort lost & found!! It's gotten too big to easily search through & plenty of coats and water bottles need to find their homes. All items left in the lost at the end of the semester will be donated or disposed of, what has your student lost!?!

Wrapping Extravaganza - Dec. 10th, 13th, 14th, 15th - PTA is seeking Volunteers to help our teachers get their presents wrapped for Christmas. Volunteers can Sign-Up for a time to come to the school to wrap gifts for each teacher to help lighten their load after those busy school days.

December-February Events:

Laynes Spirit Nights - December 6th-8th - 4:00-9:00pm - 15% of profits given back to Beck!

Half Day of School - December 17th - 7:40am-11:40am

Christmas Break - December 20th - January 4th - Students return Wednesday, January 5th

Martin Luther King Day - Jan 17th - No school!

Beckopoly - January 18th - 5:30-7:30pm - Is your student an entrepreneur looking to build their business? This is their chance to create and sell! Submission deadline is January 10th, sign-up form should be available this week.

Father/Daughter Dance - February 4th - 5:30 -7:30pm - Details TBD

Kindness Week - February 7th-11th - Details TBD

Multicultural Night - February 8th - 5:30 - 7:30pm - Details TBD

1st Grade Fairy Tale Ball - February 14th - Details TBD

Northwest News

Registration now open for NISD's Reindeer Romp

Registration is now open for Northwest ISD’s annual Reindeer Romp! The event consists of a 1-mile fun run and 5K run, with all proceeds benefiting school P.E. departments.

The event begins with the 1-mile run at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, December 11, followed 30 minutes later by the 5K race. Both races take place at Alliance Airport. Register now and select our school to help our P.E. program! Information and registration is available at www.nisdreindeerromp.com.
