Greetings families!
I am excited to share many opportunities for our families to volunteer in the next two months at Beck. Coming up first is our Amazing Shake Challenge. We will need around 50 volunteers a grade-level in order to provide the challenge experiences for our students to exemplify the interpersonal skills we've been focused on this school year. The challenge events will occur during your child's specials period. Our second exciting event is our Annual Career Day, our students look forward to seeing all of the career opportunities that are out there. Of course our student's favorite day of the year, Field Day, is our final opportunity to volunteer with the school this year. This year, students will rotate between 12 field activities and we will need parents to help us run these activities, we are looking for 24 volunteers for each of the three field day rotations. All sign-ups are below, please consider joining us for all or any of the upcoming events. We would love to see you!
Next week, we are celebrating all of our volunteers this year. If you have volunteered to work with your student's classroom, volunteered your time to help decorate classroom doors and bulletin boards, volunteered at our PTA events or with our PTA, been a Watch DOG(S), or helped the school in any capacity this year, we would love to provide you breakfast and time to gather with Beck's Administration to allow us to share our appreciation of your support of our great school. Please RSVP below if you are able to make it. We will see you there!
Enjoy a great week!
Always True Blue,
Amanda Bunch

This is the event we have been very excited to bring to Beck! We have been working all year on 5 important interpersonal skills that help our students display respect, appreciation, and acknowledgement. Three very important skills to our developing youth. These skills have been reinforced throughout the day in each of their classes and during the challenge, students will be exemplifying our 5 Strive for 5 traits:
The only way these challenges can be as successful as we envision and desire is with YOUR support! Please consider signing up for a slot to challenge our student’s interpersonal skills, reinforcing the importance of these skills in day-to-day scenarios.
Monday, May 16 - 8am-2:30pm
Career Day is an exciting day for our students. We will have 4 opportunities for families to sign up to discuss your career with your student’s class. The most important part of this day is for students to understand some of the career opportunities that are available. All careers welcome! Our students are fascinated in your careers because YOU are doing them.
A sign up is coming out the next Bulletin. If you have a career you would like to share with your student’s class, be thinking about pictures you would share, things you could bring to share, and overall the journey you have taken in order to step in to your career as it is an inspiring time for students to see what dedicated efforts you made to get to where you are!
SIGN UP COMING SOON!
Friday May 20th 8am-2:30pm
One of our student’s favorite days of the school year! We will need 24 volunteers for each Field Day grade-cluster to help us run rotations for our Field Day. We will assign 2 volunteers to each rotation and you will run that field game the 2 hours you are here with us. Your help is greatly appreciated.
We welcome all Watch DOGS (Dad's of Great Students) to come volunteer. If you are interested in volunteering, please select a date and time slot that you want to volunteer on the sign up. When you arrive at school on the date you've signed up for, please check in with the front office. They will sign you in and you will receive a schedule based on the grade-level of your student.
Watch D.O.G.S. schedules follow the schedule of your student for either the a.m. or p.m. time slot. While your student is in class, your child's teacher may have some tasks they would appreciate help with, we like to have our D.O.G.S. do a safety check around the building and report any needs to our Office Manager, and overall support students in class where needed.
Dads, please be sure you have already completed the online background check before signing up. A new background check is required for each school year.
Please note one change to Watch D.O.G.S., we now have time slots set up for 1/2 days, either 7:40-11:30am or 11:30-3:00pm.
Please plan to arrive 5 minutes prior to your child's lunch period. All visitors will need to check in with the office using their valid driver's license or government issued ID. We are limiting 2 visitors per student.
There will be assigned tables for parents to have lunch with their child. Only you and your child will be able eat at the parent/student tables. No friends allowed.
When students line up after lunch, you will need to exit through the office. For safety and security reasons, parents cannot follow students to class or the playground.
If you need to cancel, please email beckelem@nisdtx.org so another visitor can take that spot!
