Greetings families!
I am humbled by the sheer support we received from families and our PTA last week, but mostly Thursday. Last week may have put the largest strain on our teachers and staff that we have seen yet. As they always do, all stepped up and worked admirably through the challenges. We are blessed to have some of the best staff at our great school. If you haven't reached out lately, please help fill the buckets of our great educators and staff. Your kind words carry so much weight in our world.
At this time, we are in a Moderate Risk level status between 5-10% positive Covid cases at Beck. For the next 2 weeks, our Moderate Risk status will have the following impacts:
No lunch visitors
Campus visitors will be upon approval only (including Watch DOGS and classroom readers/volunteers)
Teachers will still hold tutoring groups and beginning at the end of the month our UIL teams will begin to practice as planned.
We expect to move out of the moderate risk status in the next two weeks allowing lunch visitors and volunteers to come in again starting January 31st. I will send an update about our risk status and opening our campus to visitors again early next week.
Thank you for working through all things Covid with us still. We share your prayers for normal days to return and closing this Covid chapter soon.
Please stay safe and healthy.
Always True Blue,
Amanda Bunch

A Beck parent, Beth Ann Sands, joins me in answering a few great questions that all folks have when considering supporting our school as a guest educator.
Hello Parents!
I hope you are all doing well. I wanted to let you know about a program we use in art class called Artsonia.
Artsonia is an app that allows our students to keep a digital portfolio of their artwork! It also allows you to access and view their artwork online. We have done some awesome projects this year and I am so excited to share them with you! Another great thing about this app is that you can purchase your own child's artwork printed on a mug/blanket/canvas/ornament/etc. and give them as gifts!
I think there is a holiday sale going on as well, PLUS Beck gets 20% of the proceeds directly back into our art program, which is awesome!!! If you are having trouble accessing your students artsonia account, please feel free to reach out to me and I am more than happy to help.
Thank you so much for all your support, and again, if you have ANY questions, I am happy to help! Email me at Andrea.Carlton@nisdtx.org.
To access your student’s artwork, scan this QR code or visit www.artsonia.com/parents and enter this Parent Code: 565J4H55
We welcome all Watch DOGS (Dad's of Great Students) to come volunteer. If you are interested in volunteering, please select a date and time slot that you want to volunteer on the sign up. When you arrive at school on the date you've signed up for, please check in with the front office. They will sign you in and you will receive a schedule based on the grade-level of your student.
Watch D.O.G.S. schedules follow the schedule of your student for either the a.m. or p.m. time slot. While your student is in class, your child's teacher may have some tasks they would appreciate help with, we like to have our D.O.G.S. do a safety check around the building and report any needs to our Office Manager, and overall support students in class where needed.
Dads, please be sure you have already completed the online background check before signing up. A new background check is required for each school year.
Please note one change to Watch D.O.G.S., we now have time slots set up for 1/2 days, either 7:40-11:30am or 11:30-3:00pm.
