Greetings families!
We are winding down our last big events for the year! Today's Career Day was incredible! Thank you to all parents that were able to share about your inspiring careers and sharing your journeys. These days are so important for our kids to hear about many of the career possibilities out there and the roads you've traveled to get to where you are. Thank you for being an inspiration to our students!
This Friday is Field Day! With the heat index reaching 100 degrees, our Coaches have transitioned many of the Field Day events to inside the school so there is limited time outside. Students still need to wear good running shoes and hot weather clothes as they will be outside at increments. Any water bottles brought should be labeled with student names.
This is the last communication I will send to you all this year. It feels as though we have been in fast forward and I am in disbelief that we are wrapping up the end of the 21-22 school year. It has been a great year with many, many celebrations! Our students have thrived in many areas and we are celebrating all of the milestones met.
Students will be bringing home all of their supplies, journals, workbooks, and work next week Tuesday and Wednesday. The goal is to have very little to take home on the last day of school Thursday. Reminder, we dismiss at normal time on Thursday, at 3:03pm. The whole school will clap out our 5th graders just before 2:00pm and then return to class while 5th grade goes to the gym.
Summer Hours will begin on Tuesday, May 31st. Administrators and our Office Manager will be on campus Monday-Thursday, 7:30-5:00 until Wednesday, June 15th. The campus will be closed until July 11th when summer hours will resume again. You can continue to call or email beckelem@nisdtx.org for any questions during summer hours.
Please enjoy a safe and relaxing summer!
Enjoy a great week!

Amanda Bunch

The Texas Education Agency will soon release preliminary STAAR results, which Northwest ISD will email to families shortly thereafter. Please be aware these are not the full results with exact scores, though they will indicate whether students passed tests or not.
On June 24, the TEA will release your child’s specific score for each test through a private portal at www.texasassessment.gov. When this happens, Northwest ISD will email you the website and your specific student code to access results. Expect additional communication from NISD in the coming weeks regarding STAAR test results.
Northwest ISD’s next superintendent wants to meet you! All members of the community – students, staff, families and everyone else – are invited to a reception at the Northwest ISD administration building to meet Dr. David Hicks.
The reception will last from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 24. For those unable to make the event, additional opportunities are planned for the future, including high school zone events in the fall and Facebook Live.
