Language Tutoring and Training

The CSLC provides language tutoring for Notre Dame students as a free service. Most FLTAs will be providing tutoring in the language they are teaching as part of their duties (see your IIE TOA document for details). In preparation for this, you will receive a spreadsheet where you can fill out your availability. Make sure to do this as soon as you have your course schedules so we can make our tutoring schedules for the semester.  

Training for Tutors

In order to train you in how to peer tutor, the CSLC offers a course in tutoring through the Canvas learning management system. You will receive a Canvas course invitation for an online peer tutor training. Accept the invitation and complete the learning modules as soon as you are able. Please review the Task Checklist for information on when to complete your peer tutoring training course.

Tutoring Schedule

As the semester begins, the CSLC manager of the Language Tutoring program will reach out to you to clarify if part of your TOA requires tutoring, and help you build your schedule in the tutoring software system.
