Once you receive your NDID number, you can finish registering yourself in Notre Dame's system as well as begin choosing your courses.
Once you have applied to the university and your application has been processed, your next step is to activate your NetID. This is the set of letters (and possibly numbers) that go before a Notre Dame email address. For example, Alessia Blad-Miller's NetID is ablad, and her email is ablad@nd.edu
Check your email for an email sent by noreply@okta.com with the subject line "Activate your Notre Dame account." You should receive this email once you accept the offer of admission from the Graduate School. Please let me know if you do not receive this within a few business days of accepting the offer of admission.
Click the link that says “Activate Okta Account.” You'll begin the process of setting a password and a security question and enrolling your mobile device(s) for two-step authentication. Follow the instructions you'll see on the screen.
For more details, including what to do if you have deleted, lost, or failed to receive the aforementioned email, visit this page.
Once you have received your NDID, you will also be assigned an email address (xxxxx@nd.edu). Your email address is your NetID followed by "@nd.edu". This email address is your primary email address for communicating to Notre Dame faculty, staff, and students.
Once you receive your email, the CSLC will send all future communications there. Make sure to send your Notre Dame email address as soon as you have it to the contact listed in the Task Checklist.
The official email system for the University of Notre Dame is Gmail. Each account has no quota, works on any device, includes powerful mail search tools, and integrates with other G Suite tools including Google Calendar, Google Drive, and Google Groups.
For more information about your Gmail visit the ND Service Now article.
It is important that you check your email frequently. The CSLC recommends that you check your email 2-3 times daily, Monday through Friday. In general, you are expected to respond to emails within 24-48 hours of receiving them.
