The Fulbright FLTA Program provides young teachers of English as a Foreign Language the opportunity to refine their teaching skills and broaden their knowledge of American cultures and customs while strengthening the instruction of foreign languages at colleges and universities in the United States. The opportunity to improve your teaching skills is almost limitless at Notre Dame, and the CSLC will support you in strengthening those skills. Notre Dame has many presentations and workshops across different departments that allow you to refine your teaching practices.
Each FLTA’s duties are different and depend on the needs of the department they will be teaching. There are two teaching roles for FLTAs at Notre Dame:

Your responsibilitities may include:
Developing a course syllabus
Lesson planning
Teaching regularly scheduled classes
Grading
Communicating regularly with students
Managing course information on a Learning Management System (LMS)
Teaching children at local schools as part of the CSLC's community engagement program
Hosting conversation tables

In addition to guidance by your supervisor about your responsibilities, the Instructional Designer in the CSLC will help guide you in learning to manage the technology you will use.
