The Fulbright Program offers orientations every year for FLTAs that will be teaching in colleges and universities in the United States for the coming school year. These orientations are held at several universities across the country. This is a great opportunity to be introduced to the culture of the United States, meet other FLTAs, and attend workshops that will help you learn teaching methods, understand the American higher education system, and become familiar with policies and procedures for FLTAs.
This orientation is typically completed prior to your arrival at Notre Dame and is organized by the Institute for International Education (IIE). Please see the emails you have received from IIE for information about the orientation you will attend.
Each semester, Graduate Student Life offers a graduate student orientation that is designed to provide an engaging and valuable introduction to life and studies at Notre Dame. In this orientation, you will learn about the many resources both on campus and off that play an important role in integrating graduate students into the life and culture of Notre Dame. Participating in this will help you to have a more rewarding and profitable learning experience as a graduate student. You will receive information about this orientation.
Your department may require you to attend a departmental orientation. Your supervisor of teaching duties will contact you regarding any departmental meetings that you will be required to attend. To learn more about your specific department, visit their websites:
