The CSLC offers some (modest) funding support for FLTAs to attend an academic conference during their year at Notre Dame. Please familiarize yourself with the policy, outlined below, before requesting funding assistance.
Priority funding shall be allotted to NON-Fulbright FLTAs in years when IIE hosts an annual FLTA conference for Fulbright FLTAs.
The CSLC can only support funding for one conference per FLTA each year.
Funding will cover (1) registration fees and/or (2) hotel costs. Financial support for flights or travel arrangements should be requested of the FLTA's host academic unit.
Incidental charges for damages to any hotel room for a conference stay will not be covered by the University/CSLC, and are the attendee's financial responsibility.
Requests for funding should be submitted at least 30 days in advance of the conference start date.
Rooms cannot be used for extended stay -- you may arrive the night before the conference begins and leave the day that it concludes. Additional night costs are the individual attendee's responsibility.
Inviting friends, partners, or family is not permitted to attend the conference with you or stay in the hotel room with you. If you have personal travel plans adjacent to the conference dates, you should plan for alternative lodging during personal days before/after the conference.
International conferences are not supported through this funding request.
It is the FLTA's responsibility to ensure that their academic responsibilities on campus (e.g., teaching classes and attending classes) are covered or excused, if conference dates will interfere with the regualr academic schedule for that FLTA.
