Improving moist thermodynamics in weather and climate models

Firstly identifying the various ways in which weather and climate models make approximations. These approximations are not always internally self-consistent and thermodynamically consistent. The aim is to devise a way of mitigating these inconsistencies. 

Why do you do what you do?

A pure enjoyment of applying maths to a real world application, as well as furthering own education.
