The aim of the present study is to examine the impact of climate change on agriculture production and water use, as well as to assess climatic risk for future crop production and food security of Almaty region, South-eastern Kazakhstan, using crop modelling.
Kazakhstan is one of the largest producers of grain in the world, with 220 million hectares of arable land. However, climate change and its variability has crucial impact on the crop production. Therefore, understanding the relationship between climate and agriculture would be favorable for agriculture management.
