Protocol Procedures
Should a student voice a problem with a site placement supervisor, the following is the chain of command that should be followed:
1. Student discusses problem with Site Placement Supervisor
(If there is no resolution, the next step takes place)
2. Student, Site Placement Supervisor and Internship Coordinator meet
(If there is no resolution, the next step takes place)
3. Student, Site Placement Supervisor, Internship Coordinator, and Instructor of Academic Internship Class (ATR 501, 502, 506, or 508, respectively) meet (If there is no resolution, the next step takes place)
4. Student, Site Placement Supervisor, Internship Coordinator, Instructor of Academic Internship Class, and Program Director meet
IF DIRECTOR OF THE PROGRAM IS THE SITE PLACEMENT SUPERVISOR, THAN THE FOLLOWING
CHAIN OF COMMAND OCCURS:
5. If all of the above steps do not resolve the issue, then and only then should the Chair of the Department become involved in the resolution of matter
**If a student attempts to involve an instructor of an academic internship class without going through the above channels, the instructor will advise the student regarding the proper chain of command. The student will be advised to take action in the aforementioned manner.**
