Internship Courses
Internship Courses
When students enroll in their internship course, they will spend a significant portion of their week engaged in clinical training. The number of hours can vary, from 10 to 20 hours or more, depending on their course load and any outside employment. Internship begins in the Nazareth University Art Therapy Clinic, and during the second year, students typically complete placements in local agencies while finishing coursework.
All second-year students are expected to spend part of their fall semester in the YWRI clinic, supporting children and families through our community partnership. In some cases, students may be asked to take on a more intensive schedule, at the discretion of the department, and work full-time in the clinic to meet program and community needs. Graduate Assistants assigned to the clinic are also expected to work part-time in the clinic as part of their assistantship responsibilities.
These experiences are designed to deepen clinical skills and prepare students for the demands of professional art therapy practice.
