Students and supervisors are required to come to an agreement as to the expectations and schedule by the start of internship. University breaks, site breaks, the beginning/end of placement should all be addressed. Students will provide the Site Supervisor with a contract for review and discussion. The expected hours for a typical internship placement are embedded in the contract. If students are participating in an alternative placement arrangement, the hours can be modified to reflect the agreed upon arrangement. The Internship Coordinator must give approval for any adjustments in order to ensure that the student is meeting the requirements for the program.
A copy of a blank insurance certificate is included in this section for your information. Insurance is provided for the student by the University during the time in which they are enrolled at the University and are in clinical activities for an academic purpose.
Many sites require affiliation agreements in addition to a contract. These affiliation agreements are facilitated by the Internship Site Coordinator on an as needed basis. Affiliation agreements are contract between the University and the agency and are often designed to accommodate students form multiple disciplines in education and healthcare.
