Dear Art Therapy Clinical Site Coordinators and Students,
The following internship manual was created in order to provide supervisors and students with the information needed to support a successful internship placement. Included in this manual are policies, expectations, and documentation requirements.
Internship is an integral component of the art therapy graduate program. Students have the opportunity to practice what they have learned in the classroom under an accomplished mentor. In the internship setting they have the opportunity to apply methods, theories, and approaches in art therapy, counseling, assessment, documentation, ethics and professionalism. We appreciate the time, effort, and dedication that our clinical supervisors provide our students. For our students we set our expectations high and are confident that when they go out to work in the community they are prepared for their professional responsibilities.
If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions regarding this manual please feel free to contact us. We look forward to working with you to ensure the quality of our students' internship placements. We at Nazareth University much appreciate your time and commitment to our students' success!
