Hello, my name is Jané Oosthuizen. I am from a small town in the Karoo called Beaufort west. When I was in Grade 9, I made the decision to move schools and I went to Huguenot High School in Wellington. I started at Huguenot in the beginning of Grade 10. I made wonderful friends and my time at Huguenot were some of the best years of my life. The teachers at Huguenot also played a very important part in my life when it came to what direction I chose to study in. I choose to study BEd Foundation Phase at The University of the Western Cape. I started in 2020, right before the pandemic hit. Three years of my studies were online, we had no choice but to adapt. Now I`m nearing the end of my four year degree, having gained a massive amount of life experiences and knowledge. I`m ready to enter the next chapter of my life.
A bit more about me
I love working with children, It`s exciting to know that no day will ever be the same. I`ve always told myself that if I only influence one learner they way my teachers influenced me, fourty plus years in Education will be worth it. All animals have always been close to my heart and working with animals in my free time is a really rewarding experience. I also have a passion for all things baking and creating.
It is my dream to own this beautiful boy. I occasionally go and groom him. He used to be a show horse, but is now to old.
We were camping in Angola on the beach and we stumbled upon sea turtles, we carried all of them to safety.
I rescued this sweet girl, one morning after church. She was running up and down in traffic. I handed her over to the SPCA, so that they can find her home.
It has always been a dream of mine to reach out to people in less fortunate areas. This day was a dream come true. To see the little ones so happy, warmed my heart so much.
This is a cake I baked and decorated in May of 2021. This was the first big cake I have ever done.
I did pottery in Namibia. Being able to shape the clay and create something out of nothing. This was an amazing learning experience.
