At the end of the learners Grade 1 year, the learners, should be able to: Listen and speak, read and write.
Listen and speak: The learners should be able to listen carefully and ask questions. Sound out the alphabet, learnt how to pronounce and build words.
Reading: Be able to recognize and sound out the letters of the alphabet, including simple words and sentences.
Writing; Be able to use a pencil, crayon and paintbrush correctly. Be able to write all the the letters of the alphabet, simple words, sentences and stories.
