Lake Brantley High School is proud to offer Pre-Advanced Placement (Pre-AP) Honors classes for students to work up to the level of rigor required for college-level AP classes. Through Pre-AP, students are exposed to the academic skills and mindsets needed for success in AP courses and, ultimately, earning college credit while in high school.
This course introduces students to the fundamentals of music composition and performance. Pre-AP Music Honors is an excellent entry-level opportunity to learn basic music theory, develop a greater appreciation of what makes music and its many genres special, and get hands-on with music composition and performance. No prior experience in music is necessary! This is also a great starting point for students who may be interested in taking AP Music Theory in future school years.
This course prepares students for the opportunity to earn the AP Capstone Diploma, but does not fulfill the requirements.
All students receiving their instruction in the General Education setting at Lake Brantley High School take these as their English classes in 9th and 10th grade. In addition to exposing all students to a rigorous curriculum that encourages them to exceed even their own expectations, Pre-AP English 1 and 2 Honors prepares all students for future success in their academic pursuits, including AP coursework, college and career preparation, and beyond. Students who demonstrate success in Pre-AP English 1 and 2 Honors are significantly better prepared for AP English Language and Composition, AP English Literature and Composition, AP US History, and AP European History, as well as the many other AP and college-level learning opportunities at Lake Brantley.
These courses prepare students for the opportunity to earn the AP Capstone Diploma, but do not fulfill the requirements.
