Lake Brantley High School is proud to be home to the United States Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp (AFJROTC) Unit FL-954!
AFJROTC is a Career and Technical Education Program open to all students. Participation in AFJROTC does not obligate students to commit to the US Armed Forces after high school. Many of our students do find their passion here in FL-954, and go on to serve through college officer training or direct enlistment. It is not a requirement or expectation, though.
In addition to learning about leadership, personal discipline, teamwork, and the importance of service, students also explore the history, science, engineering, and career pathways of the aerospace industry.
As an official extension of the United States Air Force, FL-954 cadets are expected to maintain acceptable standards in the following areas:
Academic Achievement
Personal Conduct, Health, Fitness, and Presentation
Responsible Citizenship
Cadets are required to wear uniforms one day per week. These uniforms are loaned to students free of charge.
Cadets who complete a three-year aerospace program in AFJROTC are eligible to enter the Air Force two pay grades higher than other enlistees. Additionally, college-bound cadets can receive an Air Force Academy nomination or Air Force ROTC Scholarship directly through their participation in the Lake Brantley AFJROTC Program.
Note: Completion of two years in a JROTC class, a significant component of which is drills, shall fulfill the 1 credit PE Graduation Requirement and the 1 credit Performing Arts Graduation Requirement. This may not be used to satisfy the Personal Fitness requirement.
NOTE: Participation in AFJROTC is not a requirement to take these courses.
In partnership with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU), Lake Brantley is proud to offer on-campus College Dual Enrollment for interested eligible students.
Four courses are offered on a rotating basis. Students who complete all four courses will earn college credit worth over $14,500 in tuition.
