Scheduling almost 3,000 students into the classes of over 150 faculty across 7 periods on a Block Schedule for 2 semesters is no small feat! Our Student Services team work tirelessly throughout the year to get every student in a schedule that meets their needs and will help them be successful in high school and beyond. There are also innumerable federal, state, and county policies and practices that must be considered for each part of a student's schedule as we work towards meeting graduation requirements.
Below are some general scheduling practices we think will be helpful for everyone to understand about this process:
The #1 scheduling priority for any student must be keeping them on track toward meeting their graduation requirements. While there are many other benefits and amazing opportunities available to students on our campus, our ultimate goal is graduating.
Schedule change requests cannot always be accommodated, especially after the first week of classes. They are always based on seats available and other scheduling constraints.
Schedule change requests based on personal preference and not academic need are the lowest priority. Such requests include:
A specific lunch
Class with a specific teacher
Specific classes in the morning or afternoon
Classes scheduled in close proximity to each other
Please use the guide below as a general recommended plan to meet graduation requirements for the 26 credits.
