Welcome to the Lake Brantley High School 2025-26 Curriculum Guide! Once you review the scheduling instructions on this page, please be sure to review some of the other pages on this site:
Registration and scheduling for current students for the 2025-26 School Year is underway!
Pre-Registration: Core Classes and Select Electives
Teachers and the LBHS Administration have been reviewing student performance from the First Semester and begun conducting Pre-Registration, assigning recommended courses for Core Academics and selected electives. These Pre-Registered recommendations are based on several years of student outcomes and teacher insights. They are strong recommendations, but are not set in stone. Students and families will have the opportunity to choose a different path with different course selections later in the process, when Registration Letters and Course Request Verification Forms go out (after Spring Break). See the Scheduling Timeline for more information!
1-on-1s with School Counselors
Throughout February, our school counselors will holding 1-on-1 meetings with each of their 9th, 10th, 11th grade students.
During these meetings, they will review the following:
Semester 1 Outcomes (Grades, Assessments, Exams, etc.)
Pre-Registration Recommendations for Core Academics and selected electives
Options for additional electives
They will then select several elective choices, as well as multiple back-ups. Students are not guaranteed these courses. Please review Scheduling Process and Practices and General Scheduling Practices to learn more about how these requests are used to create the Lake Brantley High School 2025-26 Master Schedule.
Discuss specific academic and personal goals as a family.
Begin with the end in mind: What do you want May 2026 to look like?
What do you plan to have accomplished academically?
What do you plan on having participated in throughout the year, both on campus (arts, athletics, service) and off (employment, family commitments, religious or personal wellness activities)?
Review your Graduation Requirements to know exactly what is expected of you by the State of Florida and Seminole County Public Schools
Review this Curriculum Guide and see what courses will contribute to meeting those goals for May 2026.
Agree on some possible pathways that will lead to those goals:
Core Academic Courses that challenge you, but are manageable and will contribute to meeting your Graduation Requirements
Programs of Emphasis that provide unique opportunities for Lake Brantley High School students:
Special Support Programs, including Exceptional Student Education and English for Speakers of Other Languages
College Preparation Opportunities, including Pre-Advanced Placement, Advanced Placement Capstone Diploma, and Dual Enrollment
Elective courses and programs that will prepare you for life after high school
Write down these thoughts and bring them to your 1-on-1 meeting with your school counselor.
Because we require parent signature for changing Pre-Registered recommended courses, you will not be changing these during your 1-on-1 with your counselor. You will be able to change those using the Course Request Verification Form that will be distributed after Spring Break.
You will be putting in course requests for any classes not on your Pre-Registered list, primarily General Electives
The following options will not be available to request in this 1-on1. Plan on a 7-class schedule without these options:
Early Release or Late Arrival - The potential change in High School start time set into law - if implemented - will impact these options.
Audition- or Application-based Limited-Enrollment Classes
Including but not limited to:
Advanced Performing Arts
Student Government Association
Peer Counseling
Other Service and Leadership courses
Student Assistant
After 1-on-1 meetings are done in February, all student course requests (those chosen with the counselor and those Pre-Registered) will be put on individualized letters. Those letters will be attached to the Course Request Verification Form.
That form will have 2 options:
This is looks great! We are not requesting any changes. We understand the LBHS 2025-26 Master Schedule is based on requests like these for almost 3000 unique students. We also understand that any changes not documented here will not likely be possible once schedules are run in August.
We've discussed it as a family and have requested the following changes:
That form will also require student signature, parent signature, and date.
