Campus Leadership Conferences
For three amazing days in December, members of the executive leadership team hosted the 2019–2020 ResponsiveEd School Leadership Conference. It was a time to refresh and refocus through inspirational social events, informative general sessions, and interactive collaboration meetings. The recorded general sessions from the conference are now available to all employees. Our hope is that the information will give you a deeper understanding of the ResponsiveEd mission, purpose, organizational leadership priorities, school models/brands, and brand-specific strategic goals and objectives.
Kicking off the 2019–2020 ResponsiveEd School Leadership Conference, Chief Executive Officer Chuck Cook welcomes the school leaders and reminds us that there is so much to be thankful for during the holiday season. He illustrates what makes ResponsiveEd the most expansive, most diverse, and most successful charter holder in America.
Setting the stage for the general sessions to follow, Chief Brand Officer and Chief Legal Officer Chris Baumann discusses the mission, focus, organizational leadership priorities, and brand-specific strategic goals and objectives of ResponsiveEd. Chris presents this valuable information within the framework outlined in Good to Great, by Jim Collins, a book in the ResponsiveEd organizational library.
Chief Education Architect Alan Wimberley, Ed.D., defines the term “moral excellence” and its purpose in the ResponsiveEd mission. He explains the historical foundation for why we believe in classical education and why it is important. Additionally, he outlines the details of moral education and how we express it through the “shepherd heart” teacher and moral exemplars in the classroom.
Chief Financial Officer and Chief Technology Officer James Taylor presents an overview of Market-Based Management (MBM) and describes how MBM principles are being utilized to further the ResponsiveEd mission to “promote a free society.” James presents this valuable information within the framework outlined in Good Profit, by Charles Koch, a book in the ResponsiveEd organizational library.
Chief of Staff Kalese Whitehurst and Chief Executive Officer Chuck Cook discuss the role of school leaders in informing policymakers and locally elected officials of the benefits ResponsiveEd schools provide students. As ResponsiveEd seeks to “provide hope” to more students and establish support from stakeholders across the region, we are encouraging our school leaders, staff, and parents to engage with their locally elected officials.
In this motivational conclusion to the 2019–2020 ResponsiveEd School Leadership Conference, Chief Brand Officer and Chief Legal Officer Chris Baumann describes the lasting impact that each and every staff member has on the future of their students. Using engaging illustrations and heartfelt examples from his own life, Chris describes the profound influence that staff members have on their students’ lives and encourages them to use that influence to give their students the tools and vision they need to make a lasting and meaningful impact in the world around them.
Throughout the 2019-2020 Campus Leadership Conference, attendees were treated to informative spotlights on each of ResponsiveEd’s major brands. Lead by the Superintendent of each brand, each spotlight includes information on the brand overview, mission, distinctives, successes, testimony and future expansion.
