Non-renting/deactivated units will not be visible in TapeChart.
If you no longer manage a property, you would want to deactivate the property. You cannot delete a property without implications to your system.
Click on Tools
Under Property Definitions click on Homes/Vacation Rentals/Cabins
Click the Edit icon of the Unit
Make the unit NON-RENTING
Click the Deactivate button in the upper left side
Enter notes on why you want to deactivate and click Yes, I want to do this
I am unable to deactivate a unit because of a balance on the unit, I do not want to adjust the balance, but I do need to deactivate the unit. How can I do this?
If you are unable to deactivate a unit because of a balance, the best thing to do is to adjust the balance or make the needed adjustments in order to deactivate the unit. This will keep your system in balance and in trust.
However, if you do not want to correct the balance on the unit, please submit a ticket. Streamline will momentarily turn off your accounting giving you ability to deactivate the unit.
If you are on limited accounting, you will be able to deactivate the unit at any time.
What is the difference between inactive and non-renting status for a unit?
Non-Renting Unit Status
This is considered a property that is being managed by the Property Management company, but is NOT being rented out
Typically property managers will manage properties for owners, but not rent them to guest. (ie. landscaping, pool maintenance, etc)
Non-Renting properties are counted as Active properties and will be reported and accounted for within Streamline
Inactive Unit Status
This means the property is no longer included in the Property Management companies inventory count
The property manager is no longer responsible to care for or manage the property
This will also remove the property from being reported and accounted for within Streamline
How do I change the status of a Resort Unit to Renting or Non-Renting?
You can Change your renting status of a resort room/unit on the Owner Details tab
