Music and sound effects can play a critical role in the story telling process. The music you choose can help convey meaning, emotions, and other feelings to the video you are creating. Selecting the right music is an important part of any video creation and should be given equal thought and consideration to all other aspects of the project.
Mini Assignment - Create a video with two different soundtracks
Step 1 - Download a Video Clip from this drive and open it in Adobe Premiere Pro
Step 2 - Download two separate audio clips. Choose two clips that are very different from each other.
Suggested music sites: Pixabay Music or YouTube Studio (click audio library on the lower left menu)Â
Step 3 - Add your audio clip to the video. Add your video a second time and then add the next audio clip. Add text to your video that says "Song 1" and "Song 2" above each track.
Once complete you should have one finished video (approximately 1 minute long) with the same footage appearing twice, each with a different soundtrack.
Step 4 - Export your finished video and save it to your Google Drive.
Step 5 - Create a new unit on your portfolio page, embed the video file on that page. Write a short paragraph underneath the video that describes the different emotions and feelings that each song creates for the viewer.
Finished Example - This is my sample version of what your project should and sound similar to.
Video Write-Up: In my video, the first song is a bit more intense and creates a feeling of potential danger or riskiness. In the second song, it's more upbeat and creates a feeling of excitement or anticipation.
